Support Our Artists

Local musicians that have sold their instruments during the Covid 19 Pandemic to make ends meet, pay their rent and buy food

Artists that have given up practicing their art and chosen another path to earn a living

Artists have been negatively affected by Covid, both financially and emotionally

ROOTSPRING NPC, a dedicated non profit company, have since 2015 been supporting and promoting artists through income generating platforms.

“Without the support of Ariva (Jersey) Trust (UK) and BASA (Business Arts South Africa) we would not be able to create any income generating platforms for artists. They are providing us with the necessary funding for operational expenses, but we need your funding to pay for venues, staging and lighting, audio and video promotional recording, meals and transport for artists, training and mentorship programmes but most importantly to pay performance fees for our Growing Artists Projects”
– Yusuf Ganief (Rootspring CEO).

Sponsor a live and online performance for 4 to 10 musicians. The artists will be provided with a venue, sound and sound engineer, video recording, front of house assistance from Rootspring personnel, ticketing and marketing from Rootspring team, meals and transport, and an artists’ performance fee.

With Covid a new era of online concerts and live streaming have become the norm. However many South African artists are not educated and with a digital divide based on varying economic factors we as Rootspring have started a monthly workshop and training series for 20 emerging and established artists. The aim of these workshops is to equip artists with online media education, live streaming technology, social media marketing, copyright knowledge, basic sound and staging, basic photography. These sessions will be done in partnership with established arts training and workshop facilitators/organizations.

We recently (the Jack Mantis Band) performed at the Rootspring House. What a night! Possibly the most intimate setting for a truly humbling listening experience…and possibly the finest live sound we’ve ever experienced.

If you’re a true listener of sound and lyric, Rootspring should be on your monthly calendar.
