FINTRY – The Blundells and Terrence Scarr
The Blundells – Caroline, Julie and Jonny, grew up making music together as a family, led by their well-known father Keith Blundell. Over the years they have performed individually and together at music festivals, in live venues, and on TV and radio. They have worked with many different bands in a wide range of genres, as has Terrence Scarr. He has been a fulltime musician for his whole life, playing and teaching many different instruments, and currently heading up Rondebosch Boys High music department.
Fintry is acoustically driven, performing (mostly original) songs with folk, blues, African, Celtic and country influences. Their unique vocal delivery and beautiful intricate guitar picking, combined with Terrence’s varied and creative violin playing, create a rich tapestry of music and lyrics. Added to this musical mix is a good dose of humour and story telling making for an entertaining and varied performance.
Rosie Bruce Band:
The Rosie Bruce Band produces a wonderful blend of original Afro-country folk songs. The band is led by the beautifully smooth vocal ability of a young and super-talented singer, Rosie Bruce, accompanied by dad, Cameron Bruce and Ian Cohen. Cameron, an accomplished singer/ songwriter, on acoustic guitar, has been performing in front of audiences since the late 80s, and was a founding member of The Streaks. Ian, of Bright Blue fame, also an accomplished songwriter, provides additional depth through his skills on bass guitar and vocals. Frequent appearances by Peter Cohen on drums and Keith Farquharson on keyboards add to the mix.
